Sidney Walter Goemer passed away peacefully at Methodist Hospital surrounded by his family on October 23, 2024, at the age of 91 following a brief battle with cancer. A funeral service was held on Monday, October 28 at 11 a.m.

The City Council approved a resolution to waive Lindsborg from needing to operate under a set of accounting principles that are used by some municipalities but which the city̓s auditor said is usually beyond the means of a small municipal staff. The waiver does not change how Lindsborg keeps its books, but is only a shift to annual approval of the practice rather than relying on an initial, charter ordinance to cover matters in perpetuity.
The City Council also voted to pay $6,446 to replace a machine that maintains proper temperature for electronics in a control room at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The current “mini-split” air conditioning and heating device has recently require repeated repairs and addition of refrigerant, wastewater Superintendent Denny Walker said.
The City Council agreed to pay an $8,898 bill for emergency replacement of the motor and pump for the Lindsborg Golf Course after they failed last month.
The City Council on Oct. 21 voted to give 132 feet of spare culvert pipe to Smoky Hill Township for drainage work that would help the Cow Creek Project̓s aim of directing runoff north from town.
