Friday’s Class 3A, District 6 matchup between Smoky Valley and Wichita Trinity had something for everyone – at least everyone who prefers offense to defense. The teams also presented a sharp contrast of ways to move the football.

Homeless: work often won’t cover rent
Julie Riggins has spent much of her adult life looking for housing to avoid being homeless. Despite earning a paycheck during many of those years, Riggins rarely had enough money to afford rent for the housing that was available.

Guidelines offered for septic tank use
The Environmental Protection Agency says more than one-fifth of U.S. households use an individual or small community cluster septic system to treat their wastewater. It offered these guidelines for using a septic tank safely and economically.
