Nominees sought for artist of year
The Lindsborg Arts Council invites nominations for the 2025 Lindsborg Artist of the Year. The winner will be honored Feb. 8 at the 31st Annual Art Lovers Affair & Auction, formerly the Chocolate Lovers Affair.

Oct. 25 Using license-plate cameras, police found a vehicle that was involved in a hit-and-run. Police gave the driver a notice to appear for not reporting an accident.
October was remarkably warm
October temperatures in Kansas were well above average, with many record highs broken, the National Weather Service office in Wichita said. It was the warmest October for most locations since 1963.
Podcast ads will promote Lindsborg
The City Council on Oct. 21 approved $14,000 for ads on iHeart Media, the largest podcast producer in the nation. Most of them money will come from grants, and $2,200 from the transient-guest tax.
City changes health plans
Facing a 19.17 percent increase in health insurance premiums for city employees, the City Council voted Monday to switch plans and keep the increase for 2025 coverage to 6.31 percent. Employees̓ share of the premiums won̓t rise, because the city had budgeted for an 18 percent jump.
