The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks recently held public meetings about whether to change the three-month season for hunting coyotes with lights and high-tech scopes that make the animals pop out white in the black of night. This kind of hunting has been allowed in Kansas since 2021.
March was mostly warm and dry in Kansas, although there were pockets of above average precipitation, the National Weather Service office in Wichita said. It was the warmest March since 2012 for most locations.
