The Smoky Valley girls track and field team won the Kansas State High School Activities Association Regional Championship at Pomona on May 22 and will send 16 athletes to the state meet at Wichita State University this week. Kaden Bishop from the boys team will also go.

CherryRoad Media publisher Jeremy Gulban visited the McPherson Sentinel on May 13 and said the News-Record is among CherryRoad newspapers that will go from being printed as a broadsheet on newsprint to digital production on brighter paper the size of a magazine.
