Educator Lysell fill seat on City Council

City OKs $66,000 to help fix electricity turbine
The Lindsborg City Council on Monday night approved spending $65,976 to help pay a $20.25 million bill for repair of damaged blades in both gas-fired turbines at a Missouri power plant that provides more than a quarter of the city’s electricity. Lindsborg is a member of the Kansas Municipal Energy Agency, one of six organizations that own the Dogwood Energy Facility southeast of Kansas City at Pleasant Hill.

Clark, Spitler 3rd in events at state track
At the state high school track and field championship at Wichita State University on Friday and Saturday, Smoky Valley High School’s two podium finishers were Esther Clark and Trista Spitler, who each competed in four events and each placed third in one of them. Clark ran 11:37.64 in the 3,200-meter race and Spitler hit 36 feet 11.25 inches in the triple jump.
