PHILLIP MICHAEL KRUGER

Phillip Michael Kruger (Mike), 79, passed away peacefully at his home in Lindsborg KS on July 02, 2025. Mike was born on August 05, 1945 in Junction City, KS to Walter Theodore Kruger and Harriet (Young) Kruger.
 At the age of 13, he moved with his father, mother and younger brother, Thomas Kruger, to El Cerrito, CA. Mike attended El Cerrito High School where he was an avid baseball player. After high school he attended Contra Costa College. Mike continued to play softball on adult tournament leagues for many years. He was an accomplished bowler, rolling a perfect 300 game. Later in life he became a passionate golfer.
 Mike quit college to work for the US Postal Service in 1964. He went to work at Exxon Refinery in Benicia, CA for 32 years until it was purchased by Valero Corporation, where he worked until retirement.
 During retirement Mike ran golfing tournaments for the SIR (Sons in Retirement) Golf in the Paradise area of northern California. Mike and his wife belonged to three car clubs, numerous community groups and worked on 3 Habitat for Humanity houses in Oroville, CA.
 Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Kruger of Lindsborg, KS; sons Albert Kruger of Pinole, CA; Steven Hunt (Michele) of Newport, TN; his brother Robert Kruger of Lindsborg, KS; grandchildren: Brittany Baca (Justin), Mel Hunt, Kaylynn Kruger (Bryan Fisher), Kyle Kruger (Mily), Justin Hunt (Mila) and Heather Blum (Adam); 4 great grandchildren and numerous extended family members and friends.
 Cremation has been chosen and no services are planned. There will be a celebration of Mike’s life at the Lindsborg Senior Center on Sunday July 20th at 11:30 am for food and fellowship. Online condolences can be made at www.crick-christiansfuneralhome.com/.
 Funeral arrangements were trusted to Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 North Washington St. Lindsborg KS 67456. Memorial donations may be made in Mike’s name to the Lindsborg Senior Center.
