MICHAEL PHILLIP BERNSTROM
(February 14, 1955 – July 3, 2025)
Michael Phillip Bernstrom, 70, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025, in Lindsborg, Kansas. He was born in Crookston, Minnesota to Harold and LoisAnn Bernstrom and graduated from Turlock High School, Turlock, California in 1973. He attended California State University, Stanislaus two years then attended California Institute of the Arts graduating with a B.A. in Performance. Michael earned his Masters in Performance from the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. After this he moved to Tucson, Arizona for 20 years before moving to Lindsborg, Kansas to help care for his parents. His love and patience will not be forgotten.
Music and Michael were always one. He played in numerous symphonies and orchestras through the years. He thoroughly delighted in small ensembles. While living in Lindsborg Michael played Handel’s Messiah and Bach St. Matthew Passion. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Danny Carlson.
He is survived by his brothers Robert (Joan) Bernstrom and Richard (Dana) Bernstrom and his sister Jane (Duane) Carlson Allison. His nieces and nephews and their families Kenny (Jessica) Carlson, Emery, Leyton and Collyns. Sara (Frankie) Robinson and Mya. Kimberly (Skyler) Reinert, Sadie and Danny. Stefan Carlson (Charity), Sofia and Nova. Kathleen (Bob) Glesener, Imogen and Hal. Michael dearly loved his nieces and nephews and their families and considered them all his very own. He will be dearly missed by his aunts and uncles, many, many cousins and too many friends to count.
Michael was a kind, gentle, soft spoken soul with a witty sense of humor. He lived well and leaned on God for his every need. Grace and peace to his memory.
