Dee Dea Ross briefly parked her trailer with dog and horses Tuesday morning on South Main. Ross said she was homeless and needed a place for her two Thoroughbreds. She blamed the family's plight on a pit bull mix in Woodward, Okla., that had ripped open to the muscle a foreleg of the horse on the left, Angels War Dance, four months before he was to begin his racing career and get her off of Social Security. She showed photos of the gore. Eagle, as she calls him, healed, but his racing prospects were ruined. "He was my shot at making it," said Ross, who in recent years has lived in Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and New Mexico. He remains a stallion. The other horse is his mother, registered as Has Angel Wings, aka Angel. The dog is Leah.
