Susie Bea Fisk
Susie Bea Fisk, aged 79, born April 5, 1945, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to Katie Mae and Samuel Walters, passed away on October 4, 2024, at her home in Washougal, Washington.
In 1961, Susie moved to Los Angeles, CA, and attended Belmont High School. She worked at L.A.
County General Hospital and the Southern California Gas Company before joining the California Department of Corporations. She was promoted to office manager and continued in this position until her retirement.
She married Irwin “Wes” Fisk, and they made their home in Pasadena, CA, with their two sons, Mark and Paul. She attended Pasadena City College, where she enjoyed taking art classes.
Upon her retirement in 1997, Susie and Wes moved to Lindsborg, KS. There, she enjoyed restoring their Victorian home, serving on the board of the Children’s Center, and being an assistant Girl Scout leader. She co-authored two books, “Everyday Tales” and “Shifting Horizons: A Kansas Collection.”
In 2009, Susie and Wes relocated to Washougal, Washington. There, she cherished her time with her sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her friends, jewelry making classes, and was an avid lover of word games, frequently playing Scrabble and Words with Friends. She also adored her little dachshund, Otto.
She leaves behind her husband, Irwin Wesley Fisk, of Washougal, WA; her sons, Mark C. Fisk, of Bonner’s Ferry, ID, and Paul S. Fisk, of Montana; her grandchildren, Christabelle Anderson, Carlson Fisk, and Castle Fisk of Blackfoot, ID, Christopher Fisk of Twenty-Nine Palms, CA, Nicholas and Connor Fisk of Montana, Mary McFarland of Camas, WA, and Michael McFarland of Coeur d’Alene, ID; and her great-grandsons, Macen and Bowen Speer of Blackfoot, ID, and Knox Anderson of Blackfoot, ID. She also leaves her sisters, Mary Jo Maxwell of Aberdeen, SD, and Judy Walters of Santa Rosa, CA. Her brother, Samuel J. Walters, preceded her in death.
Services will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens Chapel, 1101 N.E.
112th, Vancouver, WA.
Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 12:30 p.m., followed immediately by a graveside service at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery, 3329 Q Street, Washougal, WA.
