The old Meridian Highway, from Winnipeg to Mexico City, went through Lindsborg, and at the Saline County line a sign for tourists was erected about 1920. This is on Fairchilds, which in McPherson County becomes 15th Ave. In 1995, the Smoky Valley Historical Association repainted the sign and improved its attachment to the concrete base. The paint peeled, and the association has painted it again. With help from The Garage Automotive Museum in Salina, it was re-installed Dec. 12.
