City OKs $66,000 to help fix electricity turbine

The Lindsborg City Council on Monday night approved spending $65,976 to help pay a $20.25 million bill for repair of damaged blades in both gas-fired turbines at a Missouri power plant that provides more than a quarter of the city’s electricity. Lindsborg is a member of the Kansas Municipal Energy Agency, one of six organizations that own the Dogwood Energy Facility southeast of Kansas City at Pleasant Hill.
