Kansans without health insurance higher than U.S.

As of 2023, the most recent data available, both Kansas and the United States had historically low rates of people without insurance, 8.3 and 7.9 percent, respectively, since the Affordable Care Act took effect in 2010. But Kansas has not expanded its Medicaid coverage like most other states, and it has made an 11-state shift from having a lower rate of uninsured than the nation to a higher rate.

Newspaper will become more like a magazine

CherryRoad Media publisher Jeremy Gulban visited the McPherson Sentinel on May 13 and said the News-Record is among CherryRoad newspapers that will go from being printed as a broadsheet on newsprint to digital production on brighter paper the size of a magazine. Photo reproduction, especially color, will be superior, but the projected 12 pages in the new format will have about two-thirds of the space provided by eight pages of the current broadsheet – which three years ago was more than 10 percent wider than it is now.

Assaria City Council minutes April 14

The Assaria City Council meeting for April 14 2025 was held at the City Building at 7:00. Suits allege violation of age-verification law
