State allots $800,000 to K-4 fix

The Kansas Department of Transportation has budgeted $800,000 to patch Highway 4 – Harrison Street – between Swensson and Lincoln. The first half of the money is to come in the state’s 2027 fiscal year, which means after July 1, 2026, and the second half in fiscal year 2028.

Senior Center lunch program ends for now Beginning Monday of this week the Lindsborg Senior Center was no longer serving lunches, at least until August. Participants in the subsidized food program can instead go to the summer lunch program established for children, at Messiah Lutheran Church.

Hospital better off than others for Medicaid cuts

The big spending bill in Congress would cut Medicaid reimbursement to Kansas hospitals by 15 percent and add to the risk of small ones closing, as well as end coverage for 5,000 rural Kansans, one study says. The administrator of Lindsborg Community Hospital said it is relatively well positioned, because of its affiliation with a larger health system and because of having among its patients relatively few Medicaid recipients.
