Softball team wins twice in Nickerson

Rylie Tolle hit three home runs to help Smoky Valley softball win in Nickerson 14-1 and 10-6 on Monday. The first game went four and half innings, after the Vikings scored four runs in the first inning, five in the second, four in the third, and one in the fourth, with the Lady Panthers managing just one run in the third.

Sjogren, Brice win at track and field chamionship

Scott Bontz News-Record At the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference track and field championship, held Friday and Saturday at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Bethany’s Kort Sjogren won the men’s javelin event, with a throw of 59.37 meters, and Dylan Brice won the men’s pole vault, clearing 4.55 meters. (Sjogren was also honored as an outstanding student and spoke at the Bethany commencement ceremony Saturday afternoon.) There were no team results listed in the meet results shown on milesplit.com.
